Rollerball Pens

Rollerball pens are usually considered as a higher quality writing accessory than the regular ballpoint pen, but not as high quality as a fountain pen, and are therefore seen as a midway pen, offering the smoothness of a fountain but using the same mechanism as a ballpoint. A rollerball contains a tiny ball in the tip that quite literally rolls as you write, transferring the ink to the page. The ink used is made from water or gel, whereas a ballpoint uses ink that is oil based, and it’s widely regarded that the rollerball ink skips less, but it dries slower, meaning this type of pen may not suit a left-hander.
